Atleast Darren is still down his 2lbs, he hasen't gaind and thats great. I tink that both of us could do much better, I'm just so addicted to food. I turn to food when
I'm stressed, board and have nothing else to do. If no one is home they don't know how much I eat, so I think it's ok then I allways feel guilty. So I realy need
some good ideas to helmp me. Hope everyone has a great week.Hot

The best thing you can do for yourself, and I know it is not always possible, is to make dinners large enough to pack a lunch the next day or even two.  For example, if you know you are making a meal that is really good leftover, make enough extra of that so that if the next night you fix something that is not as good leftover (fresh fish), then you would have a dinner and two lunches already prepared.  Include vegetables and / or salad.  Zip 'n Steam bags are great for having fresh vegetables steamed.  Just put some seasoning and a little butter in the bag with the vegetables of your choice and refrigerate until lunch - takes only about four minutes to heat.  Also pack carrots, fruit, unsalted nuts, or celery and peanut butter (if you like) for a snack.

Avoid salty, sugary, or high carb / low fiber snacks.  The ones listed above are high in fiber, flavor, and can help curb your appetite.

Plan midmorning and midafternoon snacks.  It can include the above snacks, like a small tuna salad with 1/2 apple, but it needs to be a healthy snack, or your cravings and temptations will go way up.

Plan your groceries for the above (healthy dinners that you can make once and enjoy for a couple of more meals and healthy mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks).  It takes a little extra time to prepare your grocery list at first (after you get the hang of it, it doesn't take as long) and eating at home for dinner rather than going out will save both time and money.  If during your lunch hour you just NEED to get out of there, warm your lunch (if it needs it) and go to a local park or some place calm and soothing.  If you have a good place to walk around your office, you might even walk for 20 minutes first, then heat and eat your lunch if you have an hour lunch.  Exercise helps to take the edge off your hunger and reduces stress.

For the times that you are out and know you will not get to eat your own meals, plan ahead.  Know what restaurants you have available and what you SHOULD eat there, not what you want to eat there.  That will help immensely.  Get child-sized portions, if possible, if there is something that sounds just too good to pass up.  Find someone who will go with you and help hold you accountable for your choices rather than eating alone at a restaurant.

This is not easy and takes time to get accustomed to doing, but you CAN do it.  Eating at home is less expensive than eating out, although eating healthy is not cheap.  Just take it a day at a time, but plan when you can, and you WILL be successful.

Good luck!  We are cheering for you!

I gained last week too! Just be inspired to do more this week. I bet you will have a big loss this week. I'm hoping that for both of us!

Eating out, even if you make good choices, is FULL of salt.  Here's what we've done, and we've been working on it for 2 years!
Carry bottles of water and good snack bars and nuts (in premeasured bags or containers) in the car for those "I gotta eat now" times.
NEVER drink pop - Wendy's has the best ice tea - diet pop can make you hungry.  Try to stick with water, and put some of those water flavor pouches in the car so if you have to eat out, you don't have to pay for ridiculous pop prices, but you can have flavor too.
Check out EVERY fast food restaurants nutrition - and have a list of what you can eat where.
Don't eat out. Have frozen meals (still high in salt, but not as high) that you can use when you just don't want to cook - you save gas, and you can have it cooked by the time you would get to the fast food place.
Plan a week ahead - I'll do a huge pot of chili - and divide it up, so we have homemade food to take to work.  I am working on some crockpot meals that are nutritionally good for our diet, and I cook one big pot, and end up with 3-4 meals - 1 for one night, the others divided into individual servings for 'fast food' or work lunches.

Good luck, and keep trying!
